As a franchise, Pokemon hovers between 2 and 4, generally closer to 2 than 4. Largely easy, a few spikes here and there, but nothing drastic.
BDSP has been a 1. Basically nothing whatsoever has posed any difficulty. I'm way overleveled and I haven't ever stopped to grind.

Wasn't actually hard at all because I picked Turtwig, but at least at that point, I wasn't several levels above everything yet.

The gimmick is a momentum winning, even a bigger momentum winning shot in PvNPC. Any kind of difficulty gathered by the totems or Necrozma is literally destroyed by not being a retard and using your Z-Move properly.

You would know this if you were at least DECENT at the games.

I played with no exp share, no affection bonus, and didn't grind.
The only battles that could have been considered difficult are Lucian and Cynthia. And I was able to steamroll those with a Baton Pass team.

Everyone saying 1 uses the broken switch mode and not the honest Set mode. On top of that they all use max revives full heals etc. AND battle items like X defense X attack etc.

Maybe if you try actually playing the game well you'll have a better understanding of the difficulty.

all you have to do is skip every trainer. you actually remain at a reasonably low level if you do this. of course this doesn't stop bosses from spamming shitty status moves multiple times in a row or the amie boosts which you literally cannot avoid from screwing the opponent over even more

Pokemon was never "hard", it was just tedious. In the past if you got stuck you just had hours of tedious grinding to deal with, the new games have eliminated the need for grinding so the illusion of the games being hard is now shattered.

The enemy AI has always been braindead. The puzzles have always been piss-easy, mostly.
The worlds are generally linear and easy to navigate even without help.
People talk about old Pokemon versus new Pokemon as if its Dark Souls versus Skyrim and I just don't get it.
It's nostalgia, pure and simple. It seemed harder because you were young(er).
