Uhh... what? Sinnoh has Fuego Ironworks, Iron Island, and Route 224. What does Kanto have? The route to Fuschia that you didn't take? Sea Route 20 and the Seafoam Islands? That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Hoenn does have the most optional areas and routes though, I agree. Routes 114, 115, 105, 106, 107, 108 (including the Abandoned Ship) 109, 134, 133, 132, Pacifidlog, 131, and 130 are all optional as far as I know.

Well they weren't just compared for being long, it was also for being similar in purpose, as long routes that lead you to a remote town in the northernmost reaches of the map. Sinnoh's snow route is like someone took the idea of Hoenn's rainforest route but replaced all the good level design with a bad gimmick.

Not that anon but the 2 routes are clearly trying to accomplish different things. Hot take but route 217 is good IMO cause it succeeds in making snow point feel very far away. Having to trek through deep snow, in a blizzard, with very little to indicate where you are other than a few lone trees dotted around is perfect for that purpose. Route 119 in hoenn by contrast is more so trying to feel like a lush rainforest with waterfalls. It’s not trying to be disorienting or anything, it’s trying to feel adventurous and climactic. You can feel this in their respective themes.

This. The idea of Johto being “saved” by Kanto is just a shitpost trying to rewrite history. Gen 2 Kanto was only ever just a post-game bonus and even Gen 1 Kanto has less too do than Johto due to having no rematches and no daily events.

I also prefer Hoenn as a region, but Sinnoh actually has a more coherent story. RSE has the second worst plot after Galar. Even Lysandre was more interesting as a character than Maxie/Archie.
