I have never played Platinum, but have played Diamond. Would you guys rec the original Platinum, or it there a mod of it that is shilled for good reason I should play instead?

Renegade Platinum if you're not scared about a little challenge.
Otherwise you can play vanilla and use the Pokemon Universal Randomizer to patch some stuff if you want (like update base stats/moves to gen 6+ or make trade evolutions accessible without trading).

Don't play Renegade Platinum without playing vanilla Platinum beforehand. Renegade is quite cringey with the fan service and overloaded with bullshit like IV/EV training and insane items.

Just save yourself and play original Plat with following Pokemon mod.

Found the source, twitter says it's from nintendo switch share so it was uploaded directy from a switch, so unless there's some way to put your own images in the switch's gallery and upload them from there, this is from a copy of BDSP.
