The story is pretentious and keeps asking the player to ask the same questions over and over again.
There were cancerous forced intervals and tutorials that were long and tedious throughout the whole game, a trend that continued to persist for years.
It had the most new pokemon in a generation to date but the distribution for their availability was crap and the high evolution levels were retarded even for the newer experience system.
The reusable TMs, the lack of requirements for HMs, and better battle facilities were good but the rest of the game's experience was unfun.
