>>48795608DeNA is extremely limited with what they're allowed to include in Masters dialogue due to GF/TPC being ridiculously anal about how they want their characters portrayed. Pretty much everything the characters say and do needs to be related to their portrayal in the other games, so if anything it's basically falling over itself in how "canon" its character portrayals are.
Really hurts early characters that never had much personality to begin with, too. Characters like Brock never ever get to do shit because what do you even do with him? He has no personality in the games and they're not allowed to invent one for him either.
