SwSh’s plot is an insulting incomprehensible mess that takes itself to seriously, artificially raises stakes by making the characters at like complete idiots, and forcibly shoves this nonsense story in the player’s face without even letting the player contribute meaningfully. It pretty much takes the worst aspects of every other Gen’s story and solidifies it into a mass of literary shit.
Gen 2’s story is a plain donut the cashier gives because it’s the end of the day and it would end up getting thrown away. otherwise. (Kind of sucks to admit since Gen 2 is my favorite due to everything outside of the story and but if you define story as “the main conflict” then Gen 2’s story is a leftover nothingburger from Gen 1)
Gen 8’s is having a 3 dozen rotten eggs thrown at you by by some lunatic who thinks you stole his girlfriend, even though you’ve know nothing about her. But it turns out that the girlfriend had told him that she had a family emergency and would be back in one day but the egger was too stupid to listen. So they get in a fight and the girlfriend breaks up with him, so the egger comes to the conclusion that driving 29% of animals to extinction will make his girlfriend happy. The kicker is the the girlfriend loves animals and is vehemently against this.
