Yes but be warned the main campaign kind of sucks and isn't engrossing. It's the sude content and postgame where these really shine

the desert area is optional, and in Black 2 it's a paved road (not in white 2, there are ruins in route 4)

You really should play through it once vanilla, the mon variety is exceptional but not overtuned like X/Y. Nuzlocking isn't a bad idea, but maybe not randomizer. You'll like it anon, they're considered the best Pokemon games for a reason.
