Your concerns about animation files, textures, and UVs are legit and likely will fuck me over later. But as I learn how to mod the game, I want to verify each step at a time. It would be pretty pointless to make custom tiddy textures and UV if I couldn't even get the mesh in, which is my current issue. :)

Try looking up games with similar file structure, and see what people used for them. We obviously don't have dedicated BDSP tools yet.

just because you paste the same skeleton on a different mesh doesn’t mean it won’t warp it

If the bones are separate from the mesh, that shouldn't be an issue unless you mucked up the mesh enough that it no longer works with the bones and animations that work on the original.

It is how animations work, anon, otherwise sharing the same animations between different models would not be possible. The point is moot, however, because OP didn't rig the model anyway.
