There's no way we're getting a new Gen in November unless Legends is a complete disaster and they fast track whatever new thing they have in the pipeline to help sweep Legends under the rug.

The reason Legends is coming out in Jan is to make room for Gen 9s release in november numbnuts, why the fuck do you think BDSP and LoA are being released so close together, if Gen 9 wasnt next year, LoA would be coming out later in the year, not a month before Pokemon Day.

SM didn't start development until ORAS was done and SWSH didn't start development proper until late 2017. GF has been working on PLA and it's taken up enough resources that they straight up outsourced BDSP to a third party.

There just ain't enough time. Gen IX in the same year as PLA is gonna be ridiculously underbaked. Hell, gen IX in 2023 would still be underbaked.

Got a fun fact for you, anon. Developing HD games is more costly and time consuming than developing low res games. Hell, 3D development period is more costly and time consuming than 2d. The good old three year dev cycle ain't cuttin' it and the games are suffering as a result trying to keep up. Ask anyone in the industry and they'll tell you the same, dev time gets longer the better the technology you're working with.

A possibility. I strongly suspect they're focusing PLA since it's a bit of a departure from typical Pokemon, but assuming they're splitting development again, it just means gen IX will still be an unfinished mess. They need to devote full attention to it instead of splitting development. SWSH and LTH are proof of that, the former being underbaked as hell on release and the latter being a critical and financial flop.

The game for Holiday 2022 is Sword and Shield 2 with added compatibility for all Pokemon including those introduced in Legends Arceus(that's the big selling point). It'll have it's own DLC in 2023.

I have no idea how people can think that they're capable of developing multiple games. This is the dev that's giving us games that run at 20fps in 2021, with graphics out of 2005. How could they possibly be making two games at once? That's not normal for any dev studio, let alone an incompetent one.
