It's a great region with a shitty dex.

I always check serebii's pokearth to see what pokemon are on the route im on. if there's a new pokemon i haven't seen yet for the dex, i'll go through the grass but if everything is shit i'll just use repel

there's better pokemon for your team in the underground

I fucking hate Sturdy so much it's unreal. It's the sort of thing that only fully evolved pokemon should get so the mon becomes a bit more of a threat for boss fights, not unevolved shitmons.
Shit practically forces you to run Skill Link Cinccino in BW2, but I'm not even sure there's a reliable multihit user in bdsp.

Made worse by the fact that almost half of the Pokemon are either Water, Normal, or Flying type and some Pokemon are only available by grinding honey trees or on specific days (Drifloon on Fridays).

That's what Kanto and Johto were. But at least, the road were short.
Hoenn has many different biomes.
Sinnoh is a downgrade. Only boring and long routes.

Sinnoh has many different biomes too though? It has forests and mountains, but it also has tall grass fields, marshland, foggy cliffs, snowy routes, lakes etc. And if you count the postgame island, it also has a desert, and tropical forest and volcano in Platinum.

>uses the same regional dex and npc and gym leader teams for main game. MOST of the expanded platinum dex mons are locked into the underground. Locked behind rng in a side mode, and some are still unobtainable, and some are much harder to evolve. Gligar is an example. You can find razor fang in game before the 5th gym in platinum. In bdsp its a post game item. Mons like tangela are post Nat dex only.

But hey there's rottenass park four soulless legendary farming and a few smogon(tm) approved rematches, so I guess these games are le good?
