Playing through the Platinum postgame again (I've played through Sinnoh four times) and I unfortunately have to agree with you that Sinnoh is very inoptimally designed. I have five roamers out right now (the Birds, Cresselia, and Mesprit) and going through this section without a Defog user is infuriating.
