Is it ethical to revive pokemon from fossils? They're coming back to a world that they aren't suited for.

I miss this ethical debate that R/S/E had intertwined with the gameplay. I remember the first time my Anorith evolved into Armaldo and straight up killed itself before I got to the Magma Base, disappeared from my party forever. Was such a shocking moment for younger self to see but I knew immediately that it was for the best. Weird that feature never came back

There's a lot of references to early UK palaeontology events in it too - the misshapen creatures calling to mind the Crystal Park lizards, while the frankenstein designs themselves reference how early scientists were tricked by stitched-together mock-ups, while also referencing Cope or Marsh famously putting a skeleton together wrongly.

This was such a retarded thing to do and I'm still seething about it tbqh. Could have had cool fossil pokemon based on English finds like Baryonyx or Plesiosaurus but instead we had to get the "le old timey people were retarded" meme. Barely anybody even uses the new fossils because they look like shit and their dex entries only made it worse.
