Realistically, how would you become a champion of a region? There are no stats and you have to compete with hundreds if not thousands of trainers to get there.

You would need to build a great team. Your plan should be similar to Blue's. Build a team of 6 that can beat any Pokemon regardless of type. You should also study your opponents and create movesets and strategies to counter each of them. If it's like Galar then you'd already have an idea of what Pokemon the gym leaders and current champion use due to them appearing on TV so often.

Realistically you wouldn't. There's so much that's out of your control. The best you could do is give yourself a good mix of strong, fast sweepers and bulky Stallmons with as much coverage as possible to give yourself access to as many strategies as possible.

Or use some meme shit like Mind Reader/Sheer Cold Articuno or No Guard/Fissure Machamp. I'd love to see that in the anime.

By being stronger. Pokemon runs on battle shounen logic. It's all about who trains the hardest and has the highest power level, or using unorthodox tactics to overcome opponents who would otherwise beat you.

Sorry to break it to you folks, but you'd never make it past a couple gyms no matter what you did. Think of it as an alternative universe, how successful are you in life? Since there are no cheat codes, you probably aimed for something that was possible for yourselves, and then stopped there. Noone here became a billionaire, a politician, an astronaut, and noone will ever be. At least try to somehow get 4 badges so you can flex to your relatives and friends

VGC strats wouldn't translate well to a scenario where battles aren't turn-based and there are no "stats". Type match-ups also mean a lot less because every species has its own unique characteristics and even individuals of the same species might have very different fighting styles.

None of those are getting big juicy contracts with actual sports teams because the real world is far more complex than their video game and the kind of skills required to ACTUALLY be good at the job they've been playing is very different and way more demanding.

you would not become a champion unless you had a kanto starter. you would have to somehow find a kanto starter and evolve, bond with it, and make it your ace. then you would easily beat everyone in your path unless they also had a kanto starter, then you're fucked.

Depends on how exactly entry hazards work "realistically". The anime used to have them work exactly like they do in-game, but they then they took a more realistic approach where Spikes/Toxic Spikes/Stealth are buried underground like landmines and only deal damage if you touch the area where they're buried.
