"Kalos confirmed" was a meme even after Sword and Shield's reveal because it would have made sense for Gen 8 to be a return to form after the nothingburger Gen 7 ended up being.
Instead we got a throwaway reference to Kalos and a new shitty regional gimmick instead of more megas to compliment the Sinnoh remakes. Go figure.
