Outside of WiFi/GTS (which is dead anyway) it's not much. Arguably worse depending on which Pokémon you like.

yes. D/P were technically flawed. ...As in, they ran slow. You can look up comparison videos of Platinum and D/P of heath bars depleting, surfing, etc. Platinum has a more extensive post-game. And more importantly, cuter outfits for the protags.
