To match or exceed that massive third butthurt impact, it would have to be someone the fandom doesn't give a shit, Misty, Serena, and Goh are discarded, it has to be someone who shows up at the last minute, whose chemistry with Ash is null, and most importantly, their shippers are practically non-existent or are just a joke, that will add more salt to the wound.

What the fuck is he talking about? What 2/6ths of his team get gourmet meals? Ash’s entire team, including Pikachu have been constantly neglected nearly the entire show. The only time any of them ever get to do anything of note is in PWC episodes. The retard has been asking for Gengar to get love since last year and now it getting it isn’t good enough? What kind of stupid logic is that. Gengar, Lucario and Pikachu have appeared in more PWC battles than any other one of Ash’s Pokémon.

Epicocity, I don't think they intend to change structure again next gen. We could have had a traditional series going back to Gyms again (especially with how Galar is in the games), and they chose not do it. I think this format gives the writers more freedom than ever before, look how they don't have to focus on the new game characters or Pokemon right away, they can make their own OC's with Go/Koharu.

I don't think she's an extreme enough personality nor a good enough trainer to be an entertaining rival for Ash. She's too nice and doesn't really have that exciting of a team for battles. I think she'd be used better in learning Gigantamax with Ash and Goh. I think Ash might be out of the running for this, but at the very least we could have an episode where the three of them make that Dynamax Soup for Cinderace and Grimmsnarl.
It really is better for Ash's character at this point to have rivals who are top-level gym leaders, Elite 4, and champions. While I'm not a fan of his design, Ash should fight Piers instead of Marnie.

Why do SMtards obsess over leagues so much? Nobody ever gave that many shits about Ash's league placement in each series, yet with SM you get all these fanboys acting like the only thing that matters in a series is the final few seconds of the league arc.
Ash won in the Orange Islands arc and the Battle Frontier arc too, yet nobody ever spergs about that.

You have to be one hell of a newfag to think people getting angry at bullshit losses is exclusive to XY. People got mad at the Kanto, Sinnoh and Unova losses too. But nobody actually treated those losses as the be all end all, nobody sat there screeching about how the entire series is garbage because Ash lost, just like nobody ever went on about how Orange Islands or Battle Frontier were the best series because Ash won. It wasn't uncommon after the Kalos League for some people to dismiss all of XY just because Ash lost, which was kind of dumb to begin with.

I haven't really seen many SMfags doing that. Maybe a few, but they weren't the majority. Not a few SMfags didn't like the league too, particularly about how Hau lost. Most people I've seen who like SM do so not because of the league but because of the characters or the SOL themes.

desu those were almost certainly not XY fans, just the "I only watch the leagues" people that show up and watch a few episodes every 3 years. They had never actually watched the parts of XY they "dismissed"

I’m scared of every big announcement event. Every interview, every anipoke tweet… it sometimes just feels like a matter of time until a disastrous quote. I’m anxious checking every source of news: social media, anime/TV news sites, the wiki. Afraid of having anxiety triggered by reading any non-canon tweet, article, comment. Unsettled even by people saying things like “Don't forget about the kiss!” as it adds to the idea that it is in question. I can no longer even imagine a world where things to do with the Pokemon anime are comfortable and I can focus on its future again… let alone feel anticipation. I can’t care about anything regarding the animes future beyond this anymore. Every moment I feel at risk of a large part of my life suddenly crumbling, like having an axe hanging over my neck at all times, waiting for a key part of my identity (and a key escapist world for myself) to potentially be killed at any moment.

Certain anime sites and channels like /padt/ control much of the narrative within the fanbase of what certain pieces of Pokemon anime news mean. As such, when certain platforms started taking a non-canon stance to amourshipping, they subsequently drove much more of the fanbase to this belief. And they’ve only built this, including twisting news with sometimes ridiculous or infuriating articles, or flat-out concocting completely nonsensical "evidence".

This fan narrative running out of control is concerning in and of itself. There is a major fear that as this narrative perpetuates, OLM might see it and believe no one cares about amourshipping/think the ship is seen as "dead" (like Pokeshipping)/feel there is no expectation to stick to the XY canon. There is also a fear that without further reinforcement, this uncontrollable narrative could even erode popular belief to the point of the canon becoming essentially a fan decision, when it’s just reached too much for the previously stated facts to overpower the situation any longer. There are already fans frighteningly discussing the "final nail in the coffin" (despite a lack of genuine concrete reason).

When there is proof against other ships such as Pokeshipping or Advanceshipping, no one considers previous Anime generations content no longer canon... but fans latch onto anything with the XY anime, again due to the impact of this narrative being out of control. And the more this becomes a conversation, the more we get the aforementioned questions to creators, the answers to which worsen things. When there's doubt in the foundation, any erroneous comments have disturbingly more weight.

The never-ending onslaught of tweets/4chan posts therefore terrifies fans, as this narrative escalates. And sadly, there are people who openly take pleasure in posting messages that cause Amourshipping fans distress. Much of the Pokemon anime fanbase has even been turned against Amourshipping fans, which, in turn, has incited some cases of online bullying.
