No no I get that. My issue is that you need to stand still entirely, pull up the Pokétch and then you scan a super tiny area. I was legit wondering if I missed some sort of input to smooth the process over but it really seems to just be this clunky.

Takes 10 seconds to pull it up, takes 10 seconds to put it away. Can't walk with it out, have to assume how many steps away from the center it is. If you end up getting it wrong you have to pull it up again.

Thats what a "faithful remake" gets you. Its less anoying to use on handheld mode.

Can we also just appreciate for a moment, that they were so committed to doing a Diamond/Pearl remake that they didn't even put the second button on the Pokétch like from Platinum version?

Well what did (You) expect from a faithful™ remake of a DS game on a single screen device which also has a docked mode?
This was the worst possible game to remake on the Switch, since it's the only gen where they actually used the bottom screen for QOL stuff.
