I love how they realized the DexNav and Super Training + Hordes made it too easy to get literally any Pokemon competitive ready and they've been doing everything in their power to strip that QOL feature since.
Gen 6 was bottom of the barrel garbage but why the fuck is it still the best and easiest game to get into comp with? Jesus fuck GF.

The friend safari was some of the best shit if people weren't being fags after finding out what they had. Hidden abilities and multiple perfect IVs at the same time.
There's only 2 ways to really get good IVs in this game- through the broken pokeradar(only on exact streaks), or by chain breeding a pair of fossils.

Wouldn't the probability to fail compile with the length of the chain, a chain of 1 would have a 93% success rate, but a chain of 10 would have a 48.4% success rate and a chain of 20 would have a 23.4% success rate

Doesn't that make it fully useless for shiny hunting? Unless they changed the formula the chances are still pure ass after a 40 chain, which IIRC is the maximum odds.
You only have a 5.5% chance of even reaching that far for a 1/200 change for a shiny, that's worse than having a shiny charm and 1000 times more annoying.
I guess /shg/ will have to endure those shitty odds for pokeradar-exclusives.

Wow those odds really are trash if it's 1/200 and 5.5% just to get to that chance, I dunno if BDSP uses the 1/4096 or 1/8192 as its base shiny rate but if it's the former than the 40 Chain PokeRadar is negligibly better than the standard shiny rate.

Except for where they superseded that with Battle ready ribbons, mints, vitamins fully ev training, bottle cpas to fix dodgy stats, etc, etc.

Horde battles took like 5 minutes to max out a stat and required no resources to do, and caps require you to hit level 100. Caps were also introduced in the same gen they got rid of any convenient way to power level your mons.
Mints are the only good thing added that don't come with some sort of caveat.

Gen 6 had the least amount of grinding to make a competitive mon, and ORAS only made it even easier.

And all you have to do in VIII is buy a few bits and bobs and click a few buttons. End result is one fully-EV's, battle-ready pokémon, without having to act the autist battling 5 at once to slowly KO them and repeat for a few rounds just to achieve the same thing.
But that's exactly why GF removed them - only autistic fuckers ENJOYED that method of getting shit ready - everyone else injected, as 3DS was piss-easy to hack and in turn, pokémon was piss-easy to inject into.
