If you did manage to catch a Pokemon, they'd constantly disobey you, attack you, or try to run away from your creepy ass. It would be SO BAD, that they'd have to come up with a new word like "Pokecel" for weird people (mostly men) who can't befriend, catch, and/or train Pokemon.
