I liked the "concept" of the Ultra Beast, which as most things in Game Freak was mishandled.

They could've been a nice callback to Missingo/eldritch in style, "glitching" your game when encountering them or causing weird effects to take place, but ultimately they weren't that different than other legendaries,

Best thing about them is that look really different fitting the whole other wordly feel.
Actually having some good animations like in amie that gives them personality.
Aliens are based and make for the best pokemon.

Agreed, the best part is that the designs barely if ever work if you try to look at their biology even by Pokémon standards. I honestly hope they revisit them in a generation or two as an excuse to have more designs that don't fit biology as we know it.

I liked Ultra Space, but it was tremendously underused
also Ultra Beasts didn't feel like alien lifeforms, they were just more late-game legendaries with shit designs. If you're gonna introduce a whole new category of pokemon, I want something I can use on my team during the story.
