Of course the way the games are no longer made to be for kids 7-12 and instead for the 4-6 range makes me not even want a new game. Michael was already such a downgrade from Wes and the region didn't have quite the same feel in XD, they'd completely ruin it now and mechanically it'd be a mess with affection bonuses and exp share removing the incentive to swap around your team as the game progresses. The writing would also suffer, it wasn't phenomenal before but it was at least a different plot structure from main series and they weren't afraid to make competent villains you could take seriously instead of just goofy bumbling idiots with one person at the top who drops everything willingly the second a child kicks their ass. Also they sold bad by pokemon standards but not by gamecube game standards, Colosseum was the best selling rpg and within the top 10 overall on the console with XD still in the top 25. Games don't sell well when nobody buys the hardware.
