Shorter speedruns get extremely optimized, and aren't fun for anyone after the first "wow Pokemon beaten in 5 minutes" impressions, with few exceptions like SMB because it's like 5 frames away from the TAS.
In fact, IMO the current 40something is perfect, especially since there is no stupid 5 60FSP frame perfect inputs in a row for le perfect starter like in most runs.
