They need to give BDSP room to breathe, especially since it apparently isn't a complete fuck-up as far as sales are concerned. I'd say we'll get more PLA in two weeks or so.

They were most likely focused on promoting BDSP before it released. We'll probably be getting more info throughout December and January before release. Hopefully something interesting or exciting.

there's been one announcement about the game, kind of? more save data bonuses for other games on the system (https://legends.pokemon.com/en-us/shop/bonus-3/), surprisingly none for BDSP, but other than that I get your confusion. it's probably due to them wanting to market BDSP more, especially during the holiday season

Considering they released at the height of the DS era, yes. It's a near certainty that they expected them to perform much better. There's really no excuse for them selling less than Diamond and Pearl at the very least.

BDSP is even at its worst a much better game than SWSH, it deserves its sales relatively speaking.
SWSH wholly deserves to get mogged by a mobile-tier low effort remake.

This. SwSh were the worst games and and the worst fanbase. They spend the last two years shitting on every other game, hiding behind sales, and bragging about "beating GS" and not only did they get lose to GS, the games they loved to shit on the most, they even lost to BDSP.
