>>48860630They were right for the wrong reasons, Hoenn being a tropical region, and therefore having a lot of water routes is something everyone expected going in, and nobody really saw as a flaw (I personally think they should’ve made these routes more interesting and diverse, and that the repetitive nature of them can be seen as a fault, but hoenniggers weren’t thinking of this when they saw that complaint). ORAS are still mediocre games, and looking back I’m kind of impressed they had the balls to rate a pokemon game like this at the time, this was a period where people were still jerking off pokemon like crazy and thought it could do no wrong, despite what doomers on this board say, people have become more increasingly critical of pokemon and the laziness shown by Gamefreak in shitting out mediocre samey titles
