i dont think so. i think the beard makes the design a lot better. its meant to be the focal point of the design since thats the biggest change and it also does well to give off a grand wizard vibe. I think alakazam is one of the ones where the beard makes sense and improves the design. also alakazam has a mustache so this is just an extension of what the original design was going for

I don't get why people hate the Dugtrio, it's hilarious and lovable. Golem, Meowth, and Ratata look good too. The Mlady Mime and Weezing are stupid, though, no excuse for those.

Mega Alakazam is excusable since Kadabra and Alakazam already has the mustaches.
The only other “give it hair” design that works for me is Gmax Kingler since crabs foam.
