Like how Samus Returns was alright, but it led to Metroid Dread which is a strong contender for the best game in the series. Or like how Breath of the Wild had its share of problems, the freedom it offered was an immense course correction from the railroad of cutscenes that Skyward Sword was. If gen IX gets an open game like Arceus combined with the quality of life and convenience of SWSH, then we'll have the best game in the franchise.
