Anon... Pokemon legends isn't from the past either. It is from a fictional universe with monsters who can time travel and whose mimic technology. To hold it to the same standards as the real world is silly.

All of my weapons breaking for no reason ruined it for me.
At the very least, the Champion weapons should've been unbreakable. Or work on a timer, like the Master Sword.

But no, BOTW is set in the distant future of the Zelda franchise.
Whereas Legends is supposed to be set in the past.

I think you missed my point. This isn't the real world. It is a magical one. One whose magic often mimics modern day tech from our world and would allow future tech to travel to the past. You are silly if you get hung up on this because our world's past didn't have access to these things.

Do you think PLA would be better if we had an Arc Bike instead of region specific ride pokemon? After all future tech can exist because nothing has to make sense in pokemon. Surely you can comprehend that somethings are better and worse suited for a game's particular atmosphere, and just because you can include whatever you want in your game doesn't mean that everything is a good idea.

I think it would have been a little lamer, but they didn't do that. I think having one piece of advanced tech that's powered by godmagic is fine.

In the same way that a smartphone is lamer than using a map and other tools appropriate for the rest of the game. We have every other pokemon game available if future tech is what you prefer for your featured gameplay mechanics, so it's not irrational that people who were initially attracted to PLA for its older setting aren't thrilled about a smartphone being a prominent mechanic.
