Why did they create a nearly perfect online system, and instead of refining it, they threw it away immediately and have not recovered since?

There was a shout-out feature and if someone else was wanting to talk, it would be updated and you could make some nice trades and stuff like that.

Pokemon hasnt been a legitimate franchise to me since ORAS desu

Stopped reading here. They DID refine it, Kalosperm.
The Festival Plaza took the PSS and Join Avenue and combined the best of both. Even if you refuse to set aside your irrational hateboner for Gen 7's soulful implementation of it, Gen 8 literally just put the PSS in the Y-Comm but better.

This is the main reason gen6 is still my favorite gen. It's simply the one I had most fun with because Pokémon became so much more interconnected than before. The more people you met, the more friends you made, a good trade or battle was never far away, and friend safaris were great if you wanted a specific Pokémon with hidden abilities or Dittos to breed with. Everything melded together to actually make it fun to build your team through it, at least until Pokébank came online and the flood of hacked Pokémon came along and made everything shit again.

What? My problem is literally the opposite. You get a mountainload of FC without having to do much at all. Just helping out players with red dialogues in the most straightforward tasks gives you more FC than you need, not to mention you get FC everyone you WT/GTS trade or link trade with someone

Wrong, it depends on the lottery shop. There are three different shops with different rewards. I've gotten two master balls and one golden bottle cap from it, and plenty of max revives and other stuff

Also the dye shops shouldn't fucking exist. You need a super high tier one just to get specific shades, and they're version exclusive too. Can't even cheat for the dyed clothes because then every dyeable outfit is listed about 19 different times.
As for the FC, I recall an overwhelming amount of the npcs feeding me the "Tell me, where do you think i'd like to go" line of bullshit which made me write it off super quickly, and getting very little FC per wonder trade

I forgot as well, but i think the Silver Cap was from the Treasure Hunt 2* shop, or something to that extent. Either way most of the shops were useless things like ev training in a game with passive ev training in Pelago, or stuff you could just buy in a PokeMart, or "your pokemon went exploring and found its 9001st Hard Stone!"

Really? From my experience using it, it was pretty smooth. A bit inferior to the PSS showing your friend list from the get go but still not unusable.

Yeah it sucks that they made a lot of the clothes version exclusives but I got around it by asking NPCs for shops they'd recommend and the ones that wear the kommo or lurantis outfit always give great ones.

Yeah, they usually have requests like those and that's why they're super easy to solve. At least 4 NPCs in your plaza will have requests like those at once and you get decent enough FC every time. Also you have the Fortune Telling tents that not only unlock new phrases to put in your profile but also increase the amount of FC you'll get after a trade. And also the Battle Agency is shitty but the first 15 levels should be very easy to defeat, which give you tons and tons of FC. I got to rank 97 just by doing the Agency. Oh and you can participate in Missions any time and get FC depending on how you do. Overall, there isn't a shortage of it in the game
