But they're making a tv series instead, less outlay, better chance at renewal (vs hoping the studio thinks it's worth spending another $200m to make a film), better chance at turning it into a long-running affair than relying on the whims of moviegoers (and after the last few years of uncertainty, expect a LOT of "safe-bet" movies to be released as studios try to react to covid kicking their shit in AND nerfing the potential audience available).
