>>48894910Have you been under a rock for the past year? It's Pokemon Legends Arceus, a "new step" of the mainline series that's coming out next month. It's set in an ancient Sinnoh where you're helping to document the first ever Pokedex.
People here are cautiously hyped for it because what we've seen so far shows genuine attempts yo push the series forwards (overworld catching and battle transitions that don't segue into pocket dimensions, a battle gimmick that isn't massively intrusive while still having an impact on hwo you play, overworld action being a larger focus with the bosses revolving arend you, the player, dodging their attacks, actually new animations for a lot of the Pokemon for the first time in close to a decade, apparently even the prospect of being harshly punished for "game overs" by losing items, etc. etc.). Also there's new Pokemon and regional forms despite being the past version of an old region for some reason, but they look good so whatever.
The world itself may not be open world, but more large instanced maps ala Xenoblade or Monster Hunter, which is still huge step up if they play their cards right.
The game, visually, kinda looks like puke, but gameplay wise it has people excited, and for some, it's the first time since 2013/2014 that they've felt that way about mainline Pokemon
