To clarify: since Pokemon store their game of origin in their data, they have a method to block GBA and DS mons, and they're using this to bar anything pre-3DS to BDSP. You can still transfer mons from 1&2 (via 3DS rereleases) and 3 (from 3DS remakes), but you can't actually get anything from the GBA or DS games.

There is no reason to believe they will do this. Denying transfers only from pre-3DS generations makes no sense when all pokemon that pass through to Home will share the same data structure, and we already know an ORAS style certificate for DS transfers is in the game.

Probably. You can always use PKHex to import them instead though. I already used PKHex to transfer down my BDSP team to Battle Revolution. I think it's a pretty neat tool.
