As HGSS to B2W2 is the peak of the franchise for me (and to a lesser extent HGSS is what I wanted out of a Pokemon game since I played way too much Gen 2 as a kid) I don't feel like any remake made these days could live up to the expectations I have for these games. None of the games I mentioned are perfect, but I also know that not only will anything new not fix the existing problems, it will just fuck up all the good parts too. Maybe you'll get something new and good out of it, but on the whole it's just going to be worse. I've been considering making threads just about not wanting Gen 5 remakes, simply so that sentiment spreads. Not though some sort of Discord gayops, but through my own sincerity. I'm even willing to offer suggestions on how to not fuck things up, maybe give a little bit of game design concepts every thread. Or maybe a little advice about game development schedules or understanding trademark law. There's a lot of things I could get into, honestly, and I'd like to provide something constructive beyond "new bad old good".
