Most of the Gen 4 overdesigned Pokemon like Dialga don't even look like animals or even Pokemon. They look like Digimon or Transformers or something. It's the simpler designs like Mothim, Carnivine, and Lumineon that look more like animals.

Not to mention Runerigus and Corsola/Cursola. I'm starting to think that GF intentionally avoids too many new type combos per game to make future Pokemon more enticing/interesting.
