DP suck, I agree. It's very tedious to play Pearl after Diamond and vice versa. On the other hand, I was able to replay Platinum twice until I grew sick of it. It's amazing how some more Pokemon variety and a faster engine makes Sinnoh so much more bearable.

Though if we include spin-off /side series games then I'd say Colosseum is even WORSE to replay. So SLOW, half the Pokemon are shitmons, and it takes forever to purify.

BW was amazing when it came out and all the Pokemon were new. The region was also so much more colorful than Sinnoh's dull mauve and baby blue color routes. The battles in Gen 5 were faster than Gen 1 and 3 which was in sharp contrast to Gen 4 battles, which were the slowest. Unova added an entirely new roster of Pokemon, unlike Sinnoh which added the least if you exclude evolutions/deevolutions of prior Pokemon. At the time of its release it felt like a renewal of the series from staleness.
