The difference is that the mons exist in the game and can theoretically be obtained whereas in the dex cut games, you cant even inject pokemon that were not coded into them.

i hadn't bought a game since USUM, but i caved and bought BDSP because i had ~a dozen friends who were all gonna play it and i wanted to be in on the fun. the game definitely wasn't worth 60$, but because of duping im not sure i really regret it. PLA looks like utter dogshit which makes it very difficult for me to be willing to consoom again so soon for that game. i have basically 0 hope for gen 9. i dread the day gen 5 remakes are a thing.

Can we stop this meme please? The games are aimed at kids - they took out the game corners, to avoid having to sell their games with a "12's" rating in Europe and with GO and Masters running as the MTX arms of the franchise (you know, on ecosystems where kids need to be at least teenagers to be allowed interact with them), there's no chance they'll pozz the main games and risk not selling to 6 year olds any longer.

It's been dead since the jump to 3D, right now it's nothing more than a zombie.
And I say this as someone who didn't know better during Gen 6 and bought those anyway. Also bought Ultra Sun and I'm still regretting it to this very day.
