>>48913778My theory about Golem specifically is that it wasn't even part of Geodude's line during development until GF made a last minute decision to link it to Graveler, which explains why it's drastically different and shits all over the concepts of its so-called pre-evolutions, if they were meant to be "pre-evolutions" in the first place; when RB came out we just accepted it without questioning.
It's like how Blastoise and Watortle have little in common and were originally separate lines until GF decided at the last minute to link the two. That's the main reason why I don't consider Blastoise to be the REAL final stage evolution of Squirtle.
