Despite having all that time to flesh out the themes and Team Flare they did jack fuck all in the way of giving the notable members personality, divulging how their viewpoints align with Lysandre's and why they're loyal to him, having someone do the aforementioned "hey, this guy's fucking crazy because of X,Y, and Z (pun intended)", etc.
They could've outright brought up Pokemon being a largely post-scarcity world with Pokemon capable of making food, summoning fresh water, building things with ease, etc. as a point against Lysandre, and how further co-operation with them can help solve the problems of the world, making killing all of both people AND Pokemon to leave the world with his little clique of spoiled rich kids a fucking stupid and downright hypocritical move (how about the guy who's literally studying a field that's directly correlated to the bond between Pokemon and trainer, hmmm?).
As is, this is a glaring flaw in his mindset that never gets expounded upon the same way Plasma or even fucking Rose's is, leaving people to mull over it and hold it against the narrative.
