Hidden Power draws its Typing from a Pokemon's past life. So if a Pelipper knows HP Electric, it was maybe an Electabuzz in the past.

Aerodactyl is the ancestor of charizard

I assumed that the Hidden Power drew from an ancestor in one side or another. A kind of genetic alternate type passed down from parent to child that sometimes skips generations before appearing.
So in the example you're using a Pelipper with an Electric Hidden Power might have a Luxray, Raichu, or Ampharos ancestor through a Quagsire or Dewgong parent.

>Dewgong/Quagsire: Water 1, Field
>Luxray: Field
>Raichu: Field, Fairy
>Ampharos: Field, Monster

There are actually all sorts of crazy evolutions with super niche requirements like Lycanroc Dusk form only being possible if the Rockruff evolves during a Green Flash.
We probably only know like 5% of all the possible evolutions for Pokemon but we'll never see much more of them because the conditions for these evolutions are either extremely unlikely or next to impossible.

Male/Female counterparts, when bred together, will produce a Pokemon of either species rather than just the mother's. Also all Pokemon have a shared ancestry that simply branched, meaning due to Ditto's existence the mutant mono-genders can still procreate.

To be more specific, they're whatever evolution stones are supposed to be, which is apparently some naturally occurring crystal in the universe, but irradiated by Infinity Energy which was produced as a byproduct of the ultimate weapon being fired the first time as well as there being some unknown source of it out in space somewhere.

this is why some people can see ghosts or levitate stuff. not only because they spend a lot of time around pokemon of that typing but also because of their predisposition to that type. we don't hear about this because it's not as unusual or impressive but i'm sure there's a lot of people who can hold their breath to absurd amounts of time, take volcano heat easily, barely be affected by electric discharges, be almost immune to poison, etc

Breeding actually brought the fossil mons back in the wild. Its why you see them wandering the crown tundra.

Competitive breeding causes overpopulation of certain mons aswell

With all the glitches in Gen 1, I like to think in-universe Kanto was known for having a big boom of paranormal activity reports during the 90s.
Even mentioning Mew around Kanto truck drivers will make even the friendliest ones tell you to fuck off out of reflex, after so many weirdo trainers kept asking them about "a really rare pokemon who lives under trucks"
It's like their version of GameStop Battletoads except people kept asing it unironically

There are multiple timelines.
Gen 1 is by itself, pokémon came from space into our real world. The game takes place in Japan.
Gen 2-4 are another timeline Arceus created.
Gen 4.5-7 HGSS to SM is another
USUM, LGPE, SwSh, BPSD, and Legends* are all each by themselves.
Legends might actually be part of the gen 2-4 timeline or with the gen 4 remakes.

Nah, from Gen 1 to Gen 6 "preys" are mentioned but it's never explicitedly stated it's a pokemon

Suddenly half of dex entries were about a specific specie of pokemon eating another one, while it had never went beyond an abstract "preys" and "predators" untilthat point

personally i'm in the club that believes genesect to be a heavily modified kabutops, or at least related to it

honestly an interesting thought - just because something is prehistoric automatically makes it a rock type apparently (galar fossils notwithstanding, as they're combinations of two other fossil mons)
if it's the latyer, then that could explain the bug type but they'd still presumably have to resurrect the kabutops for them to augment it

The Rock typing is from the reanimation process, otherwise the actual Pokémon is the type that's paired with Rock (An actual Armaldo is pure bug, Aerodactyl was Normal/Flying or even Dragon/Flying, etc).

This has been directly contradicted in the game anon. Mega Aerodactyl is still rock type and Kabuto is the same as it was in ancient types.

Pokemon daycares don't actualy breed the pokemon but make a clone using the female pokemon's egg and spliced dna from the father. This spliced dna could be anything from Ivs, natures, or unnatural moves. If pokemon actually do procreate and produce viable offspring that would mean that all pokemon (at least within the same egg group) are genetically close enough to be in the same genus.
