Only thing to note for further testing, I'm doing this right after getting starter where Dawn shows you the first Pokemon Center/Mart. Gave Turtwig a Pokeball, also made sure I had a potion and pokeball in the main menu.
99% of the glitch videos show the glitches done when the menu is filled with the other apps, wonder if that would change anything but for now it doesn't work.
