Why did Emerald remove almost all the references in Ruby and Sapphire to Kanto and Johto? Platinum didn't remove the references in DP to Kanto and Johto, so what was the point? The only reason I can think of is that FRLG were directed towards a newer generation who never played the originals, hence the Teachy TV etc. and casualization. The references to Johto would be spoilers for people who started with FRLG and then played Emerald.
