i remember when the new sinnoh pokemon were being leaked and when the full roster came out i was entirely disappointed that they didn't create more new pokemon lines and instead added new evolutions it was a definite "that's it?" moment

You can't do anything before beating the champion. No lucky egg, no cool hold items like the crit one, no compound eyes, no swarms, a bunch of TMs locked out. It's so fucking railroaded they may as well just pick your team for you at the new save screen

A quarter of them isn't even in the dex, if we only count final stages the number is even more embarrasing.
Total: 26/107 = 24.3% excluded
Fully evolved: 26/68 = 38.2% excluded
