it’s the peak when it comes to communications. having access to wonder trade, battling, trading, GTS, battle spot, O-powers, etc. at all times really breathed new life into the series. the story was kinda meh but the post-game is amazing if you invest yourself in competitive battling.

I'm personally not a fan of Gen 6's battle themes when Gen 5 hit it out of the park, but XY was overall so much more organic than SM or USUM were which is ironic considering Alola is supposed to be more tribal and they instead just decided to smash their heads on electric keyboards with generic melodies for all of Gen 7's songs.
