They wanted to tell their autistic multiverse story, simple as. Nowhere anywhere in any of the lore does it say Mega Evolution was unique to Kalos, unlike Dynamax where it's explicitly stated that Wishing Stars and Power Spots ONLY occur in Galar and the reasoning for it is because Eternatus is a leaking power reactor and those are literally the byproduct of its radiation.
At best they could say some phenomenon like Calyrex exists outside Galar that can Dynamax on its own energy but then that'd just be individuals who can Dynamax instead of the gimmick being broadly accessible AND they'd need to make a new filter since the coloration directly correlates to the source of the energy (So not red or blue).
