I've spent zero bucks on this game and have most of the Unite licenses and anything I don't have is because I don't really want it, like shit such as Greedent or Shillzard. You also get a bunch of Pokemon just for logging in, off the top of my head you get cinderace, Greninja, Crustle, Zeraora, Alolan Ninetails, Venusaur, Slowbro and one startermon, plus Pikachu and Greedent were events, and soon Tsareena too.
My biggest gripe with this game is probably how fucking useless the pizza currency is and how slow it takes holowear to reach the free shop. The battle passes are also generally trash outside of a sweater or something for your trainer.
