reminder that this is also the last mainline game with Abilities, as they are confirmed removed from PLA and the game's inevitable 10 million+ sales will tell GF that they're just one more thing that they can remove to make development faster and easier

Abilities were a mistake since they heavily encouraged stall, speedcreep and powercreep.
Gen 1 is the best gen. Though perhaps this may change with PLA?

Overworld encounters are fucking dogshit because you can't continuously roll for the Pokemon you want, you have to leave the area to force all the overworld Pokemon to despawn and hope one of the ~5 Pokemon summoned is the one you want

They still bring in loads of money, but it takes longer to produce a video game than it does to produce an episode of the anime or a plushie so they can make profit faster and with less effort with them year round compared to one game a year

God you people are fucking idiots and just say anything. Both PLA and LGPE are mainline. They removed abilities because they changed the combat system and probably weren't able to tune the new abilities with the new combat system in time. Abilities won't be gone forever and the gen8 will almost definitely have them, why? Because of fucking competitive, they still have competitive to manage and abilities are a central part of it. PLA doesnt have competitive so its not as big of a deal but if theres one thing GF will never do is fuck over their competitive fanbase because at the end of the day that's one of the things that keeps the games alive
