I like a mixture of both. Minmaxed mons are generally going to do one thing, but they're really good at that thing, but it seems like GF is trying to provide more options to pokemon with more well rounded stats, like how Froslass got Triple Axel and Poltergeist in gen 8 to go along with how its attack stat is completely equal to its sp. attack. May catch someone off guard if they swapped in a special wall just to get kicked three times.
