I watched the anime and had cards before I ever played any games. I never had the first gameboys, my first was an Advance so I started with RSE. That was my favorite gen, now I think XY and SM are up there too.

Older by a couple years, although it didn't come to America until 1998 so I was right in the target age group to watch the anime and collect toys/cards and immediately became obsessed.

Got Blue on my 7th with a GBC so by all accounts I was late to the games themselves in terms of UK release. I think Gen 2 was right around the corner. Watched the anime of course and played Statium at a friends.

I'm a month younger than the franchise but I still like to believe I lived through Pokémania at a young age since we didn't get Pokémon untill 2000 and after that it was everywere for years until we got to gen 3.

Younger. Actual zoomer. Born in 99 first game was lead green and my little bro got fire red when I was about 5. Then later got a copy of emerald and then diamond when it came out. I wouldn’t change anything at all, maybe being around for gen 1 you get more time before where we are now but I am glad I got to play the games I did. Skipped on black and white and their sequels but I might have to check those out
