>>48950083While I actually agree with your advice and plan on doing it myself, I still fail to see how the current NFTs are going to be useful/valuable?
Like, I understand NFT tech and the reason why this would be useful for real-world applications like tickets and documents and things that you don't want forged and house-ownership and whatnot. But how the FUCK does a picture of a monkey provide any kind of tech or value?
You could say the same about a pokemon card, but at least those are only made by a single source and are something you can hold, not to mention they don't go around parading their "tech." So when NFTs die down only to meteorically rise back up, what will be different? Will we be investing in the next meme NFT animal? I don't get how that isn't just the crypto version of art ponzi schemes. And I'm okay with art-ponzi schemes -- I just want them to be upfront with that and not hide it behind weird cryptic remarks like "people will join when it's too late..." Wtf about a raging ape am I missing out on?
Sorry for the rant, I just have a big disconnect between the tech side of NFTs and the ridiculous money that people are paying for the jpegs that seemingly do nothing.
