I have seen a lot of discussions here and there about how Pokemon design styling changed with time, most to become more cartoonish. However, it looks like nobody discussed about the use of colors and specific patterns.

I mean, I'm feeling amazed recently in how some Hoenn Pokemon works.

>Groundon and its simple red/black pattern
>Kyogre and its red lines adding identity to that simple fish design. Same for Flygon.

And that's without even saying some of their black scleras, like Cacturne. Do you ainons have some favourite pattern, some specific design choice exclusive to one region or anything like that?
