Its gotten to the point that I unironically accept it, mostly because rematch pokemon are surviving at 1hp more than I'm okay with. It does feel good giving the opponent the finger and telling the opponent to fuck off because I get good plays due to hacks though. I love imagining their frustration.

They precisely changed this in BDSP, affection now is the same as friendship. They are the same value.

I never took them out of the ball and by level 30 my starter was already curing status ailments mid battle. I used PkHex to set the value to 0 and effectively saw that there was a single value for friendship/affection.
